What is Ashtanga yoga ? Ashtanga means the 8 limb yoga path.
This is a vigorous vinyasa practice system that originated in Mysore India.
Vinyasa meaning a synchronized breath to movement practice where you are guided with a
structured and traditional counting method.
The class is comprised of a sequence of poses that are done in the same order each time.
This 75 mins class always begins with sun salutations to get your body moving and warm,
followed by a standing sequence , a seated sequence then a closing sequence.
In this led class catered to everyone from beginners to intermediate, you are guided by the
teacher to move from one Asana to the next with very precise breathing cues and specific points
of focus called "Dristis" to help bring your mind, body & breath in a peaceful harmonious state.
Studio space is gently heated, and students are encouraged to come hydrated on an empty
stomach to cultivate an undisturbed breathing moving meditation.
